Some say I'm a dreamer....

I was seven years old and reading short stories out of a journal to my class. It was clear that my imagination was leaps and bounds matured over my peers due to the nature of my stories. I fabricated a story about an alcoholic husband who beat his wife, but never in my short life had I ever witnessed such a thing. I just thought it made for good conflict. I was seven, let's not forget.

Fast forward a few years and poetry became my art. I had so many journals with countless poems, it was a wonder I could keep up with them all. A few were even published through contests held by my school. It was pretty clear I had a calling.

Throughout that whole time, reading was like a drug. Except it did the opposite from most drugs; it fueled my imagination and desire to become what I'd been working toward. I didn't fully begin to embrace this truth until much later in life. Having children, a divorce, a crazy ex and life in shambles had me turning to my old friend; books!

Finally, I decided to give it a go. I wanted to see if I could do it. I needed to see if I could do it. Mostly just to prove to myself that I was worth something. I needed to show that I wasn't just a bum whose life was down the toilet; I had something inside that no one could take away. So I started and didn't stop. I put my pen to paper or my hands to a keyboard and didn't stop.

A series was born that day - Legacy of Secrets. It may not be the best or the brightest, but it's still mine. I have a love-hate relationship with it, but mostly because I wasn't sure how to continue at times. Fiery Secrets took me about a year to finish, just because nothing felt right. This next book is flowing freely, but that usually means I'm going to have a harder time keeping within the requirements. The last book - Shattered Secrets - I've not even begun, but I already know it will be epic. Why? Because it has to be.

Legacy of Secrets will see its end in 2016. I will complete the saga that has been told and then retold several times over the last eight years. It will always be my first, being as how I popped my publishing cherry with it, but it will by far be the last. There's more to come in 2016. You'll have more to read, whether you like it or not.

Here's to a brand new year with brand new dreams...

News Release: Highly anticipated book release coming soon from Lisa Logue

November 14, 2014 Releasing this winter, Fiery Secrets: Legacy of Secrets #3 brings the Legacy of Secrets series another step closer to completion with this exciting new addition! Fiery Secrets begins with Lia’s struggle as a captive of the vile Trylle prince, Nolyn. Her main goal is to figure out his plan and find a way to save her friends and family, all while enduring terrible tortures and keeping the breadth of her abilities hidden. Nolyn’s true intentions take Lia by surprise and she will stop and nothing to end him and his reign.

Fiery Secrets sets a new tone by using the best elements of Young Adult novels with the fresh and more grown up New Adult genre. Just the right mixture of good versus evil and spicy romance keeps this novel at the forefront of its genre, begging to be read. Rated NC-17 for situations not suitable for children, Fiery Secrets and the preceding books in Legacy of Secrets are nothing short of satisfying for those who find Young Adult novels lacking.

Legacy of Secrets began with Cursed Secrets in 2010. The freshman titled opened the door for Lisa Logue’s paranormal romance series to be downloaded onto the Nooks, Kindles, iPads and Tablets around the world. With original monologues and relatable characters, this series blossoms in a genre made famous by titles such as Vampire Academy and Twilight. Lisa Logue continues this series with a projected eight books including novels and novellas.

Bloggity Blog Blog

Hello lovelies! I am blogging for the sake of it tonight as I'm attempting to get some much needed media time in. In truth, I'd rather just write and not need to deal with the formalities, but that wouldn't make much sense, now would it? How could you guys know about stuff unless I was here to tell you?

NaNoWriMo is here! I've been ferociously writing for the last few days, which is kind of the point of NaNo anyway. I am going to be trying to post updates throughout the process so please don't hate me! You will probably see me popping up quite a bit and I know I'm one of those "fine in small doses" kind of people. :)

What am I working on for NaNoWriMo, you ask? I am finishing Fiery Secrets and then moving on to Blood Promise with the hopes of having both stories done and released near or around Christmas time. I feel like it's a good deal considering all of the Kindles, Nooks, iPads and other tablets that will be floating around that day. People will be looking for books to read so it's kind of logical to release then. Both books will be available for preorder as soon as I get closer to the end of NaNo and have a set release. Pretty awesome :)

On a side note, I'm in desperate need of a volunteer PA (personal assistant) and/or a Street Team members. References are appreciated, but I'm willing to work with newbies because I'm a newbie, too. If anyone is interested in this, please email me and use "I Volunteer!" as the subject line (get  it...from Hunger Games?). I will totally love you forever and you'll get some awesome goodies for helping me out.

Well, I need to get back to writing. I've got 3k words to dish out tonight to meet my quota for NaNo. If you're a writer participating, add me as a buddy! My username is LisaLogue and I'd love to have you on my list!

Until next time!

NaNoWriMo, here I come!

Many authors participate in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) which takes place the month of November every year. The general idea is that you have 30 days to write 50,000 words, which is the standard size of a novel. Some people write more, which I tend to be one of those people, but as long as the work is 50,000 words or more, you're in business!

I tried to participate last year, but being newly engaged ended up slamming the door on NaNoWriMo for me (our wedding was 9/20/14!) since I was more concerned with wedding planning. That's left me with a book that's not quite 50% finished and the indecision of whether to use NaNoWriMo to finish it or to complete a different project altogether. I mean, there are so many!

Fiery Secrets is starting to come along nicely, but I'm still some time away from finishing. It will be finished this year, but I'm not sure if it's right for NaNoWriMo. I've worked hard on making sure this book is just right, I'm not sure I want to take that chance of feeling rushed to keep the NaNoWriMo deadline. At the same time, I need to just shut up and do it already!

Then, I think about some of the other story ideas I've had:

Fern Flower- A Fantasy/Adventure novel about the quest for the flower that could save the lives of many in the wake of a plague.

Romancing the Shrew- Contemporary Romance about a less than graceful single mom testing her chances at love

Ancient Blood- A Paranormal Fantasy about vampires and humans uniting in a war against The Underworld

Ruination- Sci-fi/Fantasy novel about a dystopian Earth, ravaged by a zombie-like pandemic and the non-surface dwellers who find themselves in the middle of something more dangerous than the disease itself

I literally have countless other story ideas, these are just a few of the more developed. I also have Chasers, which is a serial story on Wattpad, in case you've missed it :)

You see my dilemma? So many stories just begging to be written! I can't make up my mind. What do you guys want to read next? Which stories should indefinitely be put on the back burner? Should I just stop writing altogether?

Any thoughts?.....at all???

Sadly, this post has nothing to do with Supernatural. That will come later! No, this post is about the progress of book #3. Here's the road so far...

Sunday Update!

Current progress:

What's your footprint?

Hello lovelies! How is everyone on this Saturday evening? I'm working on widening my online footprint, which includes being an active blogger. I've been practicing on my sister blog Paranormal Booktivity. It's shaping up to be a fun experience so far that I'm hopeful will expand. I'll continue to post about it here so you all can follow its progress and see what I've been up to aside from writing.

On another note, I decided that since I don't have much else going on, I'm going to just start posting excerpts on here from Fiery Secrets instead of linking them only to Facebook. It's not fair to the folks who don't normally use it and this way, all of the platforms will be able to see the link. I'm not sure how many of you will enjoy them, but I'm trying!

I will be posting my progress for this WIP as well. As I get closer to finishing, I will be on the lookout for Beta Readers. Please don't hesitate to let me know ahead of time if you'd like to volunteer.

Stay tuned for excerpts, photos, and other updates and don't forget to share with your friends! :)

Until next time!

Anew

Hello lovelies!! It has been quite a month for me. I was very sick for two weeks, so sick in fact that I could do nothing but Netflix binge for about ten days. Doesn't seem so bad except it was an impromptu vaca that I definitely would have rather taken on a beach somewhere without the feeling yucky part. I guess it's just that time of year.

So, I've been pretty busy this week. Not only have I started finishing Fiery Secrets, but I've begun story boarding the remainder of the series and putting together my marketing package for the rest of this year. While I've started out slower than intended, I think things are finally picking up! I'll have more updates and information over the next few weeks. I'm expecting (if the planets align just so) to have Fiery Secrets completed before the end of June. I know I've said this like a BILLION times, but the difference this time is that I've changed the plot! I was trying to include too much into the story and it was driving me insane. After the decision to cut some of it out, I have been able to write without the anxiety. Guess I should have done that months ago, huh?

I'll leave you all with a new FS sneak peek. Catch you all soon!

Hermit, I am

NaNoWriMo helped me get a good start on finishing Fiery Secrets and I'm glad I decided to do it. I didn't finish yet, but I have definitely gotten a good start and I'm happy about that. Luckily, I have a vacation from my full-time job coming up and I'm hoping to finish then. So much is going to happen with this book, sometimes I just don't know how I'm going to fit it in!

Anyway, I wanted to give you all a quick update. There will be some exciting things coming up in 2014 that I will be posting and sharing all over the web. I will be finishing up Legacy of Secrets and moving on to my next project, which I am incredibly excited about! If there is something you all want to see from me, don't hesitate to drop a line!

Stumped!

So I've been having a difficult time finishing this book. I find myself writing a few hundred words and feeling like something is missing. I'm not sure if this is normal, but I hope I am just being my own worst critic. I've heard good things about the parts I've let some of my friends read, but they are my friends so I always feel like they're just being nice :). It could all just be in my head, though. If you want to take the time, here's part of an excerpt that I'm thinking about trashing. If you could leave some comments telling me what you think, that would definitely help me feel like I'm moving in the right direction. Pweeeeeaaaasssseeee? :D

Wow it's been a while...

So I didn't realize until now just how long it has been since my last post. I've been super busy with a new position at my day job, the kiddos starting school, taking care of a new puppy and trying not to lose my mind! Ultimately, I've been letting life get in  the way of my writing responsibilities and I'm slowly bringing myself back in to the correct mindset. I hope you all can forgive me!

Anyway, I'm still hoping to have Fiery Secrets completed before Thanksgiving and I'm working out a plan to help with that. If it means writing every weekend for the next two months, then that's what I plan to do! Rest assured, I will come out of the dark and back into my writing universe very very soon.

Keep an eye out for more blogs and posts. I'll be setting up some stories and what not within the next few days. Until next time!

Lazy Sunday

I don't know if you're like me at all, but I hate doing much on Sundays. I prefer to use Sundays as a lazy day to help re-charge me for the rest of the week. Between work, school, kids and writing I tend to get a bit jaded. So, instead of doing anything other than laundry, I've been online most of the day poking around or playing games. It's now after 6pm and I've decided to do some writing.

The problem is that lately I've been conflicted between writing more on the serial Chasers or jumping into Fiery Secrets. I tend to lean towards the latter, mostly because I have a fall deadline. Still, some of the story just hasn't struck me yet. I think part of that is because I've not fully immersed myself in the possibilities. As I ramble on about it, it seems that Fiery Secrets is the logical choice.

Also, I will be releasing a box set of the current books in the series very soon. I've run a few giveaways on my Fanpage, but the edited version hasn't been revealed as of yet. So, I will be sure to post links once it goes live. Here's a picture of the cover so you know what to look out for. ;)

Falling Short

Today marks the day that I am officially back in action! I took some much needed time off, only working when I wasn't unpacking and/or working my 8-5 job. The last few months have been a whirlwind of excitement and sleepiness, but I think I've finally worked out the kinks. I know that I've been falling short lately (again), but I'm going to be working hard not to let that happen again. I haven't been reading much this last week, but I have been thinking about where to take my current stories and I think I have a pretty decent foundation. I am making it a point to have the first issue of Chasers out as soon as possible. I have to polish up some of the edges and do some quick edits and it should be good to go.

As for Fiery Secrets, I'm still shooting for a late Fall release. With my hiatus over, I am actually really excited about getting back into it and busting out some good stuff for you guys. I haven't been excited about it in a while because I was so busy all the time. That's when you know you need a break! I've never stopped completely, though. I've written a few chapters here or there and some other random bits, but I haven't sat down to work steadily. That is changing now!

Well, I'll be off to do some writing and set up some blogs for later this week. I will see you guys on the flip-side! :)

Settlin'

I am not settled in the new house, but not quite settled enough to have a regular routine. Often, I'm leaving the hunny to go to bed on his own while I squeeze out some time to write and network (I know, it's horrible!). But soon I will have a working schedule come hell or high water!

Some good news:
I've been getting great feedback on the beta testing of the new version of Cursed Secrets. I am waiting on two more betas to respond before I make any changes and publish. I will also be submitting the manuscript to a local news outlet for review and hopefully a story. THAT is truly the exciting part!

Work on Fiery Secrets is beginning to pick up. I have a good starting point and I've been working hard on getting the storyline down as well as listening to what the voices...er..I mean characters tell me. ;)

Recently, I've started a new project called Chasers. It will be a serial based on more of a supernatural front versus paranormal. I am trying to lean away from the romance side and try my hand at more action type work. (Gearing up for my next project...wink wink) I will be posting the serial on BookRix as it is a free reading site. I will link the posts from here for all to read and again...it's free!

Some bad news:
Legacy of Secrets is slowly coming to a close!

After Fiery Secrets, there will be a novella and one more full novel- and it will be the end! I've really loved these characters and this story, but all good things must come to an end (some wise person said, I think!). But, that also means that I will be able to move on to my next big project!

So, there you have it folks! Once I get my schedule down, I will be adding more to my blog on a more regular basis in hopes of broadening my reach and audience. Until next time!

Rainy Days

It's days like today where I'd curl up on the couch with a blanket, my Nook, and something sweet to drink. Unfortunately, I'm in the process of moving so this isn't happening! Instead, I'm trying to finish up homework for the week so I won't have to worry about needing to stop in the midst of everything to write a paper or take a quiz. Fun, right?

That being said, I'm actually close to being finished with the re-write of Cursed Secrets. I haven't had much time to work on it, but there aren't very many aspects that need to be changed. I guess you can think of it as a re-imagining. Cursed Secrets was my first novel and also the one that started everything. I feel as though I'm not doing the series justice if I don't rework this novel to put out the best possible product. The general idea to this novel will be the same, but there are some points that will be expanded and others that will be just plain new.

I still have intentions of releasing Fiery Secrets this fall. It's still in its infancy, but once I get started I think it will be all downhill. Most of the time I just have characters screaming in my head and I simply obey and write my little heart out. Here's to hoping they don't desert me!

Well, I won't be available very much next week so I hope you all are well. I'll talk to you soon!

Happy reading! xoxoxo

Flames

The smallest act of passion,
can set the world ablaze.
Whether for good or evil,
in comes the haze.

Some will rise from the ashes,
others will undoubtedly fall.
Nothing is ever for certain,
aside from destiny’s call.

The spirit isn’t easily broken,
strengthening with each blow.
The mind can persevere,
adapting to the unending flow.

The fire will come to cleanse,
few will survive in its path.
Laying waste with ungodly heat,
invoking Hell’s wrath.

Answer the call of the ancients,
lay your soul to rest.
The flames will stop at nothing,
destruction at its best.

Late night book sesh...

Today has been rather uneventful aside from the immense amount of writing I was able to do. I had a house full of kids and still managed to belt out almost three whole chapters. I'm impressed with myself! I also picked up my Nook again after a few weeks of it resting snug in my bag. I have no idea why I haven't been reading, but the only explanation I have is not wanting to think at all. I know that probably seems silly, but my mind is constantly running these days and sometimes I just need to do absolutely nothing.

I must admit that it feels good to get back into the swing of things. I've been pretty out of it since first getting sick back in the fall and for some reason, it has taken me a while to get back to my old schedule. Part of that was just simply having no energy, but that doesn't ever really replenish these days so I just have to manage.

One thing I'm particularly excited about is the upcoming beta testing of Soul Covenant. It is only a few chapters away from completion and I'm nearly foaming at the mouth for this story. I have had to stop myself from reading it so I can actually spend time writing it, if that makes any sense. Now I don't toot my own horn, but this might be one of the better stories I've written overall. It's so different from my other work that either people will absolutely love it or absolutely hate it and there's not a whole lot I can do about that.

So, to sum things up so I can head off to bed. Beta testing will begin for Soul Covenant shortly, the cover will be released shortly, writing Fiery Secrets will follow and I'm going to continue running around like a crazy person while trying to read some books I've been dying to get my hands on. Yup, that sounds about right!

G'nite folks!

Downhill is always easier!

I am so very, very happy to say that I am seriously nearing the end of Soul Covenant. I was worried for a while that I wouldn't be able to finish it, but I've surprised myself yet again. Thank heavens! There's nothing worse than staring at a blank screen for hours without a word spilling out. I'm just glad that's over.

Once I have finished that one, I will be moving on to Fiery Secrets. There is very little to start with there, but I will do my best. I have a feeling that my time frames are going to be a bit more skewed than I would have liked. I'll be moving soon so that will definitely throw a wrench in things. I just ask for patience as I know there are plenty of folks who are anxiously awaiting book three. I'll be releasing it as soon as I can, I promise!

In the mean time, there are a lot of other things that will be kicking off on the promotional side. I'll will keep you guys updated with the dates and things of when everything is scheduled. It's a new year and I'm doing my best to kick things off with a bang!

Well, I'm pooped and I have a long day ahead so good night, my lovelies!

Well Crap!

There I went, talking about being back and all that and I haven't posted a blog in about a month. What the hell is wrong with me? *Sigh* It's true that I took a bit of a hiatus while recovering from the holidays and just an overall burnout from running around like a crazy person. I suppose we all need some times to recuperate every now and again.

So, as a means of getting back into the swing of things I have been slowly working on a few things here and there. Mostly, I've been searching for the right inspiration. I've never really had a problem with that before, but lately it's been a bit of a struggle. I don't know why, really, but I don't like it! Perhaps life is catching up with me, which is entirely possible, but I sincerely hope I'm just being lazy. I know that sounds silly, but for a single mom who works full time and goes to school, my days are pretty full already.

I obviously missed my deadline for Soul Covenant. Completely and utterly my fault. I'm hoping to grasp onto that again and finish it up very soon. I still plan on releasing Fiery Secrets this summer so I need to get my butt in gear. With any luck, I might end up with another novella and the last book of the series to be released before the end of 2013. Looking at it now, I'm starting to freak a little! But where there's a will, there's a way, right?

That being said, I need to go to bed before work becomes a chore tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a bangin' start to 2013 and wish me luck in the search for mine! Love you all and I will definitely post again soon!
