Here's the deets...

So a few months ago I posted about what was coming up in 2015 and since, a few things have happened that I didn't expect. Here's the deets...

  • Legacy of Secrets was optioned for a three year publishing contract through Raven's Seduction Press
  • The Romantic Suspense novel was named Falling Undercover and became one of my most anticipated releases of this year
  • Falling Undercover was shouldered while I worked on an author compilation through my publisher (see next bullet)
  • I have a new title available for preorder with a handful of other authors from Raven's Seduction Press & Nevermore Press
  • Legacy of Secrets may be expanding
  • Chasers looks to be side-lined while some of these other projects are in the works
  • My Facebook Fanpage is now VERIFIED!! (I'm officially a celebrity :P)

If you aren't already part of my Fangroup, head on over and jump in the conversation! Also, I have been building a street team this year and if you'd like to help a sista out, let me know! I have a journal I've been using to write some of my more obscure thoughts, not so much news.

There you have it...all of what's been going on. Be sure to keep up with me. My social media scrolls on the side. Until next time!!

What's Up in 2015

The Year of Possibilities

We've all seen the posts over the last few days; everyone talking about their resolutions and 'new year, new me' proposals and so on . While I know there are things that need to change in my normal day-to-day life, this post is going to be about what my *fans* are going to see from me this year.

New Genres

Currently, I'm working on a Romantic Suspense novel that I plan to publish in the next six weeks or so. While I am very enthusiastic about finishing Legacy of Secrets, I need to spread my proverbial wings to see just where they may take me. I'm not usually a traditional romance fan, but I don't plan on writing something that will be particularly typical of a romance. A little white collar crime, steamy sex, lying hussies and so on. You know, typical stuff.

I also plan on working on a Sci-Fi novel that I'm incredibly excited about. It's a dystopian novel that takes a little bit of some of the more popular works and kind of meshes them together to make something completely new. I know that doesn't sound new, but trust me when I say this hasn't been attempted before (at least among the HUNDREDS of books I've read)! I'm totally stoked to tap into my inner Stephen King!

Legacy of Secrets

As I said, Legacy of Secrets will be (hopefully) wrapped up this year. I had intended to finish the series this spring, but seeing as how as I was planning a wedding last year I was a bit sidetracked. The titles coming up are as follows:

Blood Promise: A Legacy of Secrets Novella
Shattered Secrets: Legacy of Secrets #4
Untitled Novella

Chasers

If you follow me on Wattpad, you'd know that I have a serial story that I post on from time to time. It's more or less a writing exercise to make sure I don't get burnt out on writing the same ole same ole, but I do have an arc as to what's supposed to happen. I plan to write a lot more issues this year as, again, the wedding had me side tracked with much of my work last year. The next episode takes the guys another step into the little town near their compound where they start to realize what they're dealing with and face their limits.

Etc, etc, etc...

What else will I be up do this year? Who knows! My main goal is to have enough goodies to keep all of you entertained for as long as I can, without driving myself into a stupor. Here's to a great year ahead!

NaNoWriMo, here I come!

Many authors participate in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) which takes place the month of November every year. The general idea is that you have 30 days to write 50,000 words, which is the standard size of a novel. Some people write more, which I tend to be one of those people, but as long as the work is 50,000 words or more, you're in business!

I tried to participate last year, but being newly engaged ended up slamming the door on NaNoWriMo for me (our wedding was 9/20/14!) since I was more concerned with wedding planning. That's left me with a book that's not quite 50% finished and the indecision of whether to use NaNoWriMo to finish it or to complete a different project altogether. I mean, there are so many!

Fiery Secrets is starting to come along nicely, but I'm still some time away from finishing. It will be finished this year, but I'm not sure if it's right for NaNoWriMo. I've worked hard on making sure this book is just right, I'm not sure I want to take that chance of feeling rushed to keep the NaNoWriMo deadline. At the same time, I need to just shut up and do it already!

Then, I think about some of the other story ideas I've had:

Fern Flower- A Fantasy/Adventure novel about the quest for the flower that could save the lives of many in the wake of a plague.

Romancing the Shrew- Contemporary Romance about a less than graceful single mom testing her chances at love

Ancient Blood- A Paranormal Fantasy about vampires and humans uniting in a war against The Underworld

Ruination- Sci-fi/Fantasy novel about a dystopian Earth, ravaged by a zombie-like pandemic and the non-surface dwellers who find themselves in the middle of something more dangerous than the disease itself

I literally have countless other story ideas, these are just a few of the more developed. I also have Chasers, which is a serial story on Wattpad, in case you've missed it :)

You see my dilemma? So many stories just begging to be written! I can't make up my mind. What do you guys want to read next? Which stories should indefinitely be put on the back burner? Should I just stop writing altogether?

Any thoughts?.....at all???

Lazy Sunday

I don't know if you're like me at all, but I hate doing much on Sundays. I prefer to use Sundays as a lazy day to help re-charge me for the rest of the week. Between work, school, kids and writing I tend to get a bit jaded. So, instead of doing anything other than laundry, I've been online most of the day poking around or playing games. It's now after 6pm and I've decided to do some writing.

The problem is that lately I've been conflicted between writing more on the serial Chasers or jumping into Fiery Secrets. I tend to lean towards the latter, mostly because I have a fall deadline. Still, some of the story just hasn't struck me yet. I think part of that is because I've not fully immersed myself in the possibilities. As I ramble on about it, it seems that Fiery Secrets is the logical choice.

Also, I will be releasing a box set of the current books in the series very soon. I've run a few giveaways on my Fanpage, but the edited version hasn't been revealed as of yet. So, I will be sure to post links once it goes live. Here's a picture of the cover so you know what to look out for. ;)

Chasers: The Warehouse (Issue #1)

Ben and Joey are called to an abandoned warehouse where shades, one of evil's many consorts, are presumed to be reeking havoc. They must find and destroy them, no matter the cost. What they find lurking scares them so badly, they aren't sure if it was actually real. ***Includes adult language***

Chasers: In the beginning...

Ben and Joey are among the chosen. They seek to defeat darkness, protecting the world from its infectious evil. They are chasers, the children of angels and the warriors of light, and they are itching for a fight.

Falling Short

Today marks the day that I am officially back in action! I took some much needed time off, only working when I wasn't unpacking and/or working my 8-5 job. The last few months have been a whirlwind of excitement and sleepiness, but I think I've finally worked out the kinks. I know that I've been falling short lately (again), but I'm going to be working hard not to let that happen again. I haven't been reading much this last week, but I have been thinking about where to take my current stories and I think I have a pretty decent foundation. I am making it a point to have the first issue of Chasers out as soon as possible. I have to polish up some of the edges and do some quick edits and it should be good to go.

As for Fiery Secrets, I'm still shooting for a late Fall release. With my hiatus over, I am actually really excited about getting back into it and busting out some good stuff for you guys. I haven't been excited about it in a while because I was so busy all the time. That's when you know you need a break! I've never stopped completely, though. I've written a few chapters here or there and some other random bits, but I haven't sat down to work steadily. That is changing now!

Well, I'll be off to do some writing and set up some blogs for later this week. I will see you guys on the flip-side! :)

More nonsensical ramblings

So it's 11pm and I should be in bed, but I've decided to get some last minute work in. Truthfully, I should have done all of this hours ago, but I was watching The Hobbit with the hunny and kids. Who can work while one of the best movies of the last year is playing next to their head? Anyway, I'm kinda excited about the serial project I have been working on. Initially, I was only going to post it in one spot, but I figured it would be better to post in numerous places for the added exposure. I also wish I knew a really good artist who could draw sketches for me, but I'm not so lucky.

The serial is a mix between Supernatural (the show on CW that I <3 oh so much) and maybe the X-Files. There is A LOT to this story that I don't even know yet, but I'm willing to show you all a little sneak peek. Follow the jump for the opening to Chasers!

Settlin'

I am not settled in the new house, but not quite settled enough to have a regular routine. Often, I'm leaving the hunny to go to bed on his own while I squeeze out some time to write and network (I know, it's horrible!). But soon I will have a working schedule come hell or high water!

Some good news:
I've been getting great feedback on the beta testing of the new version of Cursed Secrets. I am waiting on two more betas to respond before I make any changes and publish. I will also be submitting the manuscript to a local news outlet for review and hopefully a story. THAT is truly the exciting part!

Work on Fiery Secrets is beginning to pick up. I have a good starting point and I've been working hard on getting the storyline down as well as listening to what the voices...er..I mean characters tell me. ;)

Recently, I've started a new project called Chasers. It will be a serial based on more of a supernatural front versus paranormal. I am trying to lean away from the romance side and try my hand at more action type work. (Gearing up for my next project...wink wink) I will be posting the serial on BookRix as it is a free reading site. I will link the posts from here for all to read and again...it's free!

Some bad news:
Legacy of Secrets is slowly coming to a close!

After Fiery Secrets, there will be a novella and one more full novel- and it will be the end! I've really loved these characters and this story, but all good things must come to an end (some wise person said, I think!). But, that also means that I will be able to move on to my next big project!

So, there you have it folks! Once I get my schedule down, I will be adding more to my blog on a more regular basis in hopes of broadening my reach and audience. Until next time!
