So, if you've been keeping up with my Facebook and Twitter, you'd know that I just made TREMENDOUS progress with Binding Secrets! Woohoo! With all of the things going on lately, I'm so happy I've been able to finally get in the groove and bust out some good stuff for this sequel. I'm really excited about where the story is going! I can't say it won't have a cliffhanger ending, but it will definitely have a lot more action (wink, wink)!
Without further ado, here's a sneak peek into the highly anticipated book 2 in Legacy of Secrets, Binding Secrets:
He
stared at me for a while. He didn’t blink, didn’t breathe, just stared.
The depths of his green eyes always took my breath away, but it was
becoming harder not to lose myself in him. I stood and wrapped my arms
around his waist. Slowly, his arms snaked their way around my frame. We
stood like that for a while, just letting the rest of the world
disappear. It was nice, but always too short.
“Is something going on?” Austin huffed from the top of the stairs. I jumped.
“Yeah, we’re having a summoning. Pops will be here soon,” I stammered.
He looked at Christian questioningly, “A summoning with whom?”
“The Fates,” Christian said softly.
“What?!” Austin’s eyes grew wide. “What the hell?!”
Christian
pulled me up the stairs with him and the three of us sat in the living
room. I hovered near the liquor cabinet, but decided against it. The
last time I drank was disastrous. I tried to remain focused as Christian
explained what little we knew about the new alliance to Austin. All the
while, my thoughts fluttered back to the night that almost was.
Even
the smallest moments of stolen glances or touches seem tragically
passionate. Never had a person made me feel like I could move mountains.
A white hot flame burned for him deep inside. The same flame that
erupted inside me earlier that day. Our closeness fueled the flame and
each time I got stronger.
“Um, Lia,” Christian cleared his throat.
“Hmm?” my head snapped up. I was so caught up in my thoughts I didn’t realize the changes.
Several
items in the room were floating. Every light was glowing at an almost
unbearable brightness and humming rather loudly. My talisman and
bracelet burned with a heat I couldn’t feel, but with a power I couldn’t
ignore. I smiled to myself before closing my eyes. Finding my center
was harder, but I managed. Once everything was back to normal I opened
my eyes to two very shocked faces. Apparently my feelings were still
very tangible. I needed to work on that.
“Sorry,” I mumbled.
